Tuesday Times Roundtable

The Tuesday Times Roundtable is FIU’s weekly series of moderated conversations on The New York Times articles from the multiple viewpoints of students, faculty, and staff. They are hosted every week on Tuesdays in GC150 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. I loved each and every presentation I went to for different reasons! I listened closely to other Global Learning Alumni talk about their post-grad experiences, realized how unreliable Google Translate can be for conversing, discerned how big a role the internet plays in sex trafficking, noticed the undeniable gaps in prison reform within our justice system, learned about the indigenous people living in reservations, and uncovered Religion clashes with LGBTQ rights more often than we think. All in all, I found the sessions really interesting and having free lunch to pick from was the cherry on top.
